OK, Charlie. So what is your reaction to these ads? You have included two here. Remember, we want your reaction not just an announcement or summary. For example, do you think the workshop at Tinker Mountain would be worthwhile? How much does it cost? Have you ever thought about the money making aspect of writing workshops? Some people are opposed to writing workshops. Are you? More of your thoughts, please.
ReplyDeleteIthink that the writing workshop in Arlington would definitely be very informative as well as entertaining because of the diversity they offer in many different arenas of writing. In particular, having such acclaimed speakers such as Elaine Viets speak with her expertise in writing. Elaine has been on the best seller list with two of her novels "An Uplifting Murder" and "Half Priced Homicide" so , for me, someone of this stature willing to speak at a workshop for aspiring writers would certainly be the one I would be ambitious about attending, and it is also the closest one I found within the magazine I had chosen. THat being said, the categories they offer alone would have me sold on attending.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the ads appearing to be somewhat of a gimmick or money making scam, I didn't find any evidence of that being the case with the two I have chosen. In fact, they both mention contests available to enter one's work in no charge anticipated.
