I was amazed that spirituality, church, faith-based and Christian writing were featured in so many ads. The only other content-based genres were adult and children's' writing. Hmmm. There is a whole category of "New Age/Spiritual" Markets ranging from "The Mountain Astrologer" to "Fate" -accounts of the weird and unknown. The next two and a half pages are asking for submissions on "Religion." Catholics, Buddhists, Quakers, Pentecostals...what a list!
I am spiritually awakened.
Lol...Betty...I am spiritually awakened too..because I didn't know so much religion would be found in such magazines...But that's a good thing tho...
ReplyDeleteInteresting, Mary K. I am currently reading a book by Karen Armstrong (for my 2nd book in the class) who joined a convent right out of h.s. & remained there for 7 yrs. before she came out into the real world & started writing. I'm only about 1/3 of the way thru & she's still trying to overcome the damage caused by the yrs. in the convent. However, she has now written several books about many different religions. Maybe it behooves us all to "read up" on other religions than our own & quit judging w/o knowing much. Of course I am NOT talking about US! We, naturally, are open minded unlike all those other folks. I'll wait 'til I finish my book to decide whether her other books are worth reading.
ReplyDeleteLove the title of your post, MK. Perhaps you can find a niche in the writers' market as the Shore's New Age writer. LOL.
